Sidney' is a member of Hoenn's Elite Four and the first of the Elite Four members faced in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions, as well as in the remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. He specializes in Dark-type Pokémon.

Background

Sidney seems to have an optimistic attitude and appreciates good matches regardless of whether or not he wins. He believes in focusing on offense rather than defense and describes his Pokémon as the Dark Side's beauties. In Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, he is challenged by Brendan/May and appreciates the look that the player gives him, seeing it as a sign of a good match. After being beaten, he humbly accepted his defeat and urged the trainer on further into the Elite Four.

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, when being challenged to rematches, Sidney was excited to use one of the Key Stones that had been sent by Steven Stone so that he could Mega Evolve one of his Pokémon in battle. Sidney was also found by the Battle Maison when Brendan/May first arrived there. He was in the area looking for Steven in hopes of getting him to come back to the Pokémon League, but he left upon realizing that Steven must successfully eluded him.

Other Appearances

• He appears in the Ruby/Sapphire arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga, where he is part of the Hoenn Elite Four whom Steven Stone calls together to gather legendary Pokémon to combat Groudon an Kyogre. He succeeds in capturing Regirock for Steven. He is also shown to be a musician of some sort, often carrying around a guitar. Sidney made another appearance in the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire arc, where he helps out with the destruction of Grand Meteor Delta.
