Sidney' is a member of Hoenn's Elite Four and the first of the Elite Four members faced in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions. He specializes in Dark-type Pokémon.

Background

Sidney seems to have an optimistic attitude and appreciates good matches regardless of whether or not he wins. He believes in focusing on offense rather than defense and describes his Pokémon as the Dark Side's beauties. In Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, he is challenged by Brendan/May and appreciates the look that the player gives him, seeing it as a sign of a good match. After being beaten, he humbly accepted his defeat and urged the trainer on further into the Elite Four.
