Debut The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Rosso is a supporting character from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds who appeared as one of the game's seven sages.

Background[edit]

Rosso was a brash and burly miner who lived in a house near Death Mountain. He had his own ore mine on the mountain and spent most of his time working there. He also did business with the blacksmith. At one point, he somehow found out that he was one of the new sages. Although he did not mean to keep it a secret, he did not tell anyone because he never saw the opportunity too when he was more focused on his mining work.

During the events of A Link Between Worlds, Rosso returned to his home after an earthquake left a lot of rocks scattered outside of it. He talked with Link about the joys of smashing rocks, and when he realized that the boy could not lift rocks on his own, he gave him the Power Gloves. He also gave Link Rupees after the boy cleared away the rocks outside of his house without him. Soon afterwards, Russo went missing. He was captured and turned into a painting by Yuga, who was seeking the new seven sages of Hyrule. The paintings of the seven sages and Princess Zelda were then used by Yuga in a ritual to revive Ganon. Afterwards, the paintings were distributed to different bosses across Lorule.

Rosso's painting was kept at the Ice Ruins and guarded by Dharkstare. Link eventually freed Rosso, at which he point he was awakened as a sage and was transported to the Chamber of the Sages. He talked about his role as a sage and how he really just wanted to go home to crack some rocks. He would also comment on the Master Sword's improvements each time it was tempered into a stronger form. Once all of the sages were freed, they combined their powers to summon the Triforce of Courage for Link.

After the crisis was resolved, the sages were all returned to Hyrule, and Rosso returned to his mining life at Death Mountain.

Trivia[edit]
