Debut Kid Icarus

Pit is the protagonist for the short lived, two-part Kid Icarus series. Based off the Greek Myth of Daedalus and Icarus, Pit is an angel in the service of Palutena in Angel Land. Despite being an angel, Pit doesn't seem to be able to fly on his own.

Background

In the first Kid Icarus, Palutena is captured by her evil sister, Medusa and Pit ends up trapped in the Underworld. From there Pit is forced to ascend his way from there, to the Land of Men, back to Angel Land, and at last the Sky Palace. On his way he had to gather the Sacred Armaments so he would be prepared to fight. He also received training from Zeus along the way there, as well. When he finally reached the Sky Palace, he was able to do battle with the evil Medusa and free Palutena.

Pit was forced to nearly repeat the same adventure when the evil Orcos arrived and took over the Sky Palace. Once again trapped in the Underworld, Pit ascended from there back to the Sky Palace while also gathering his previous arsenal of weapons to prepare himself for Orcos. After finally returning to the Sky Palace, he was able to defeat Orcos in both his forms and free Palutena again.
