Incineroar is a wrestling anthropomorphic cat-like Pokémon that was introduced in the seventh generation games. It is the final form in the evolutionary line of Litten, the game's fire-type starter Pokémon, and it evolves from Torracat.

Information[edit]

Incineroar evolves from a Torracat at Level 34. It is known for being a rough Pokémon with a disposition that has been described as rough, violent and egotistical. They have been known to ignore their trainers' orders in a nonchalant manner when they are not in the mood for listening. They are motivated by combat. Incineroar will find weaker opponents to be boring and become excited by the idea of fighting stronger opponents. The flames around an Incineroar's waist will become more intense when its fighting spirit is invigorated. It is known to fight with a combination of powerful punches and kicks, and it finishes off foes with fire shot from its navel.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Torrcat can only be obtained through evolution.

Side Games[edit]

In Pokémon Shuffle, Incineroar was featured in an Escalation Battle event.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In the Super Smash Bros. series, Incineroar appeared as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is a heavyweight character and the slowest in the game whose attacks are mostly a variety of powerful close-range combat skills that are based on moves from the Pokémon games. Its Final Smash is a version of its Z-Move, Max Malicious Moonsault, where the scene will change into a boxing ring as Incineroar unleashes devastating blows that end in an explosion. Incineroar had to be unlocked through the game's variable-based system for unlocking characters or by awakening it in Adventure Mode (where it was found in the southeastern part of the southwestern area of the Dark Realm). Its appearance was accompanied by a Fighter Spirit.
    • Incineroar's Classic Mode route was called "Burning Pro Wrestling Spirit!". The theme of its opponents in this route were fellow heavyweight characters who were faced in the boxing ring as well as the Battlefield and Omega forms of other stages. The last pre-boss battle of the route was against another Incineroar, and the route's boss battle was against Master Hand and Crazy Hand. Greninja acted as Incineroar's partner for the boss battle and one earlier battle.

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, an Incineroar was featured in the film "I Choose You!" as a Pokémon belonging to Ash's rival, Cross. It ultimately lost to Ash's freshly-evolved Charizard in battle. Within the anime series, an Incineroar was featured as the main Pokémon of Professor Kukui when he fought at the Masked Royal. Ash's Litten evolved into a Torracat while fighting it, but Kukui's Incineroar still won the battle.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a simple combination of "incinerate" and "roar".
  • It is referred to as the "Heel Pokémon" in reference to "heel" as a wrestling term, where it refers to wrestlers who act in antagonistic roles.
