Marth is a character from the Fire Emblem character. He is the star of both Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi and Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo

Background

Marth is a descendant of Anri, a heroic dragon slayer, and the prince of Altea. After an attack from Dolua, a neighboring kingdom, Marth is forced to go into exile in the nearby kingdom of Talis. While he is gone, his sister is kidnapped and his father killed by an evil priest named Garnef. With the help of the altean knight Jeigan, the Talisian Princess Sheeda, and others, Marth goes on a quest to find the sword Falchion and the Fire Emblem that would let him wield it.

Upon finding the two artifacts, goes to defeat Garnef. However, he finds that the dragon his ancestor slayed, Medeus, has been resurrected. Marth slayed the dragon and defeated Garnef. After his victory, Marth returned the Fire Emblem and Falchion to their places. Marth spent his time rebuilding the great kingdoms and ruled Altea for five years.

After hearing rumors that his former ally, Hardin, was conquering kingdoms with the help of Manaketes, Marth left his rule to investigate. Marth gathered a small army and marched to Grunia where he found his former allies fleeing Hardin or dead. Marth traveled next to Macedonia, where he had left the Fire Emblem in Linda's care.

Once he found the Fire Emblem, he noticed that the gems were missing. He managed to track one in the Dragon Mountains and started on his quest to recover them all. After recovering most the gems, Marth returned to Altea to find that Hardin had conquered it. Marth drove the invaders out and found another gem.

With Altea safe, Marth turned his attention to Gra, where Hardin was hiding. Some of Marth's old friends found a secret passage to Hardin's fortress and they used it to attack him. Marth realized that he can't defeat Hardin and used the Starlight dust to make him powerless. It's then revealed that Hardin had been possessed by Garnef, who kills Hardin. Before Hardin dies, he gives Marth the final gem of the Fire Emblem.

Marth heads to Dolua and uses the Starlight to defeat Garnef. Upon defeating Garnef, he finds a newly resurrected Medeus, guarded by Earth Dragons and possessed clerics. Using the power of the Fire Emblem and the Falchion, Marth is able to defeat Medeus and save the possessed clerics. Having defeated his ancient enemy once more, Marth starts rebuilding the continent of Akanea.

Abilities

While excellent with a sword, Marth's most important ability is his ability to lead.
