Mira is a Pokémon trainer who appears a temporary double battle partner in Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Versions, as well as the remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Background[edit]
Mira was a young girl who aspired to become a great Pokémon trainer and occasionally referred to herself in the third person. In the fourth generation games, she got lost in the Wandering Cave while catching Pokémon and asked Lucas/Dawn to escort her out. She came to admire the trainer and endeavored to be more like them, asking them if they were so strong because they were always with their Pokémon. They parted ways when they reached the cave's entrance, with Mira saying that she wanted to become tougher like Lucas/Dawn.
She would later appear at the Battle Zone, where she was an optional partner for Multi Battles at the Battle Tower. In Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, no partners were available for the player, and instead she could appear as an opponent within the Battle Tower during double battles, with Cheryl as her partner. In Platinum, Mira could also be found in the Battleground cafe on random days, where she could be challenged to a battle. Mira was also available as a Battle Tower partner at the Johto Battle Frontier in HeartGold and SoulSilver.
Pokémon Roster[edit]
At the Wandering Cave, her only Pokémon is Kadabra.
At the Battle Tower, she will use two of the following Pokémon in the challenge: Alakazam, Gengar, Exeggutor, Zapdos, Espeon, Gardevoir, Latias, Latios, Roserade, Magnezone, Magmortar, Togekiss, Glaceon and Porygon-Z. In Platinum she is also known to use Moltres, Empoleon, Yanmega, Gardevoir and Heatran. As an opponent in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, the Pokémon she could use included Alakazam, Gengar, Gardevoir and Zapdos.

- Mira has appeared in one episode of the Pokémon anime, where she manipulated Ash and Dawn into helping her when her town was flooded. She first offered to teleport them to Hearthome City (their destination) with her Abra, but brought them to her town instead and lied again, saying that her grandmother's pendant was lost. Eventually she admitted the truth, that she wanted their help in retrieving a Poké Ball containing the Sandshrew that she and her friends used to play with. After they retrieved it, she thanked them by really teleporting them to Hearthome.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Mira appeared during the Platinum arc. She was shown as a competitor at the Battleground who was friends with Cheryl and Buck. After Buck was hospitalized by Saturn of Team Galactic, she and Cheryl convinced Palmer to let them join his expedition to the Distortion World. There, she battled Saturn, although the battle was cut short by the appearance of Giratina, much to Mira's frustration.
Trivia[edit]
- Her English name seems to be based off of her Japanese name for Miru, which could refer to the word "mill", a Korean word for wheat or the grain called "meal".
- Each of the five double battle trainers who appear in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum specialize in a different stat for their Pokémon, with Mira's specialty being Special Attack.
- Mira claims her favorite moves are helpful moves like Growl and Minimize.
- In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the character of Pesselle bears a physical resemblance to Mira, including a similar face and sporting the same hairstyle. This implies that Pesselle may be her ancestor.
