Abra is a Psychic Pokémon introduced in the first generation games that is known for its basic teleportation ability.

Information[edit]

Abra is a small Pokémon that possesses psychic abilities. It can read others' minds and will teleport away at the first sign of danger. Abra usually have 18 hours of sleep, and they can even teleport when sensing danger in their sleep, having taught itself to do so through hypnosis. They need to have 18 hours of sleep due to the strain their psychic powers put on their brains, or they will be unable to use their telekinetic powers. It has been observed that Abra change their location once every hour through teleportation, and if it decides to teleport randomly it will use an illusion to look like it has produced copies of itself.

Teleportation is the only ability that Abra knows until it evolves, although it can be taught additional moves via compatible TMs and HMs. It evolves into the more powerful Kadabra at Level 16.
