Bosses[edit]

Mazura.gif
  • Mazura aka Horsehead
    • The horse headed guardian of Parapa Palace. Like the rest of the bosses of the six palaces, his duty was to protect the statue inside the Palace. It was before Link reached that statue that Mazura challenged him. The beast's armor proved too tough to be damaged by Link's sword, forcing him to daringly leap to strike Mazura's face. The assistance of the Shield spell helped Link to defeat him. After he was defeated, Link was able to take his key and place a crystal inside the statue.
Jermafencer.gif
  • Jermafencer aka Helmethead
    • The tall and powerful guardian of Midoro Palace. Like the rest of the bosses of the six palaces, his duty was to protect the statue inside the Palace. As such it was right before reaching that statue that Link had to face Jermafencer. Like Mazura, Jermafencer's armor was too tough to penetrate. Instead Link jumped up to knock the guardian's helmet off. However these extra 'helmet heads' were able to fly and shoot at Link, making it difficult to hit Jermafencer's real head. After he was defeated, Link was able to take his key and place a crystal inside the statue.
      • In the original Japanese version, there were two Jermafencers and no Gooma. Only the second instance of Jermafencer had multiple heads.
      • In Breath of the Wild, a bridge near Hyrule Field is named Helmhead Bridge (Fensa/Fencer Bridge in the Japanese version) in reference to him.
Rebonack.gif
  • Rebonack aka Iron Knuckle
    • An Iron Knuckle that rides an iron steed and serves as the guardian for the Island Palace. Like the rest of the bosses of the six palaces, his duty was to protect the statue inside the Palace. Link did battle with this mounted foe before reaching the statue. Attacking Rebonack by conventional means proved difficult. Link was forced to instead use the Downthrust to force his foe to dismount. Without his steed, Rebonack was forced to fight in normal combat like others of his kind. After he was defeated, Link was able to take his key and place a crystal inside the statue.
    • In Breath of the Wild, a bridge in Central Hyrule is named Rebonae Bridge in reference to him.
Carock.gif
  • Carock
    • The guardian of Maze Palace and a powerful sorcerer. Like the rest of the bosses of the six palaces, his duty was to protect the statue inside the Maze Palace. He battled Link right before he reached the statue. Carock proved to be a master of magic, firing powerful waves of magic energy along the ground and frequently teleporting, faster than wizzrobes in fact. Using the Reflect spell learned from Darunia Town's wise man, Link was able to turn Carock's magic against him. After he was defeated, Link was able to take his key and place a crystal inside the statue.
      • In Breath of the Wild, a bridge in Central Hyrule was named Carock Bridge in reference to him.
Gooma.gif
  • Gooma
    • A large monstrous beast that served as the guardian for the Sea Palace. Like the rest of the bosses of the six palaces, his duty was to protect the statue inside the Palace. Like the other guardians, Link faced him shortly before reaching the statue. Gooma's powerful mace proved difficult to avoid, but Link was able to perfect his time and attack Gooma while avoiding the mace. After he was defeated, Link was able to take his key and place a crystal inside the statue.
      • In the original Japanese version, Gooma was not among the bosses. Even more confusing is that Gooma shares the name with one of the generic enemies in the game.
Barba.gif
  • Volvagia aka Barba
    • A fiery lava dragon that served as the guardian for the Three Eyed Rock Palace. Like the rest of the bosses of the six palaces, his duty was to protect the statue inside the Palace. As with the other dungeon bosses, his defeat was necessary to place the crystal in the statue. Barba's weakness was his head, that was made most accessible by using the Jump Spell. After Link defeated him, he was able to place another crystal inside the palace's statue.
Thunderbird.gif
  • Thunderbird
    • A powerful guardian that inhabits the Great Palace. Little is know about this entity save that its intended purpose was to guard the Triforce of Courage should the Great Palace's seal ever be broken. It was indeed broken and when Link had nearly reached the location of the Triforce of Courage, he was stopped when the Thunderbird emerged from its shrine. Initially the creature was invincible, but the powerful Thunder spell made it possible for Link to damage the creature. Even then it was a difficult fight, thanks to the many balls of fire thrown by the monster. After a long battle, Link eventually defeated the creature, allowing access to the Triforce of Courage.
Shadowlink.gif
  • Dark Link aka Shadow Link
    • The final foe Link must meet to claim the Triforce of Courage. Dark Link appears after defeating Thunderbird and seems to be summoned by a mysterious old man to test Link's courage. Dark Link has all of Link's abilities and makes for a fierce opponent. Although difficult to defeat, there are certain techniques that made beating him easier. After defeating Dark Link, Link can claim the Triforce of Courage and beat the game.
