Grumpig is a pearl-covered pig-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Spoink.

Information

Grumpig evolves from Spoink at Level 32. It has black pearls on its head and body that amplify its psychic powers. Grumpig strengthens its psychic power to gain total control over foes. While it uses its powers, Grumpig usually performs bizarre dance moves, and its snorting breath grows labored. Their dancing style became popular overseas, and their black pearls are regarded as works of art.

Grumpig has not yet been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving a Spoink.

Other Games

Grumpig could be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams'. In Pokémon Trozei!, it was found at Endless Level 77, Forever Level 27, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. In Explorers of Time and Darkness, it was found at Marine Resort.

• In the Pokémon anime, Grumpig have made occasional appearances, sometimes as opponents faced by Ash. One belonging to a coordinator named Kelly appeared in two episodes of the Hoenn series and competed in Lilycove's Pokémon Contest, eventually losing against May/
• In the Pokémon Adventures manga, one chapter of the Ruby/Sapphire had Ruby taking out a swarm of attacking Grumpig with his Mightyena with ease. This was a sign of Ruby's true strength as a Pokémon trainer.

• Its name is a simple combination of "grump" with "pig".
