Giffca is a supporting character in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, as well as an optional playable character in the game's final chapter. He is also playable in the game's sequel, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

Background[edit]

Giffca lived in Gallia and was always at the side of Caineghis since their youth. This led to him being known as Caineghis's shadow. After Caineghis was appointed the king of Gallia, Giffca became his head adviser. Giffca was a powerful fighter in his own regard. He was a quiet type, usually lurking within the king's courtroom and silently absorbing all the conversation around him.

In Path of Radiance, he was first seen in "Chapter 9: Gallia", when he watched Caineghis's conference with Ike and Elincia. Later on, in "Chapter 11: Blood Runs Red", he was sent to Port Toha to check up on Ranulf and helped him recover after he had been wounded by the Black Knight, and the two discussed the current state of affairs in Tellius.

Giffca later returned in "Endgame: Repatriation" when the king sent him to aid the Crimean Liberation Army in addition to the other laguz warriors Caineghis had sent out. He also delivered an inspiring message from Caineghis to Mordecai and Lethe. During the final battle of the war, Ike assigned him to command the front. Ike also had the option of calling Giffca into the battle as a playable unit eventually, although he could also choose to summon Naesala or Tibarn. After the war ended, Giffca helped escort Reyson and Leanne to Serenes Forest. He supported Ike's visiting Gallia and also promised that Gallia would help Crimea's reconstruction.

Three years later in Radiant Dawn, Giffca was first seen in the Base Conversation of "Chapter 10: The Heart of Crimea" in "Part 3: Intersecting Vows" after the Laguz Alliance Army had returned to Gallia. He congratulated Skrimir on his efforts and gave him a satori sign from the king, although Skrimir passed it on to Ranulf instead.

Later on, he and Caineghis were roused by a call from Yune, who summoned them to join the forces of Yune who were rebelling against Ashera. Giffca and Caineghis traveled to Sienne and met with Ike and the rest of Yune's army as they were about to storm the Tower of Guidance, and they joined with the army. After the war, all that is said of Giffca's later life is that he died proud of how he lived his life.

Trivia[edit]
