Ghor is a bounty hunter from the video game Metroid Prime 3: Corruption He initially helps Samus Aran, but later is corrupted and becomes her enemy.

Biography[edit]

Veteran and Bounty Hunter[edit]

Before becoming a bounty hunter, Ghor fought in the liberation war on Wotan VII. During the war he suffered extensive injury and was rebuilt with state of the art cyberware. When they were finished, Ghor had only 6% of his organic body left. The operation gave him the ability to fuse into other machinery - such as a mech suit he would use afterwards. Although he is typically a kind-hearted, compassionate person, once he fused with his suit, he would become aggressive and violent.

He became a bounty hunter, but did not give up his empathy for others. Often he would fight as a champion for the poor, take on jobs for free, or give the money he earned to the victims of his targets. Although he was not an extremely skilled fighter, he possessed significant ability in computer infiltration and manipulation. As a mechanical being, he shared a lot of empathy for mechanical beings with artificial intelligence.

Working with the Federation[edit]

During the Phazon crisis, he was hired by Admiral Dane to work with three other bounty hunters in dealing with a computer virus infecting the Aurora Unit network. During his briefing, the G.F.S. Olympus was attacked by Space Pirates and Ghor went into action to make his way to the ship and defend Norion, the planet below.

On the planet he helped to restore the generators and single-handedly matched a pirate Berserker Knight on equal terms with the aid of his suit. While he and the others tried to activate the cannon to destroy an incoming Leviathan, Dark Samus arrived and fired a powerful Phazon-charged beam that corrupted the four bounty hunters - though Samus was still able to activate the cannon.

Corrupted[edit]

As soon as Ghor recovered, he was equipped with a Phazon Enhancement Device and dispatched to Elysia to restore the Aurora Unit. For a time he brought help to the Elysians, but soon the Corruption took him and he turned on the Elysians and aided the Space Pirates in hunting them down. With his cybernetic abilities he was able to take over much of SkyTown and for a time did not even require his cybernetic suit.

Once Samus Aran arrived and restored the Aurora Unit, Ghor fused with his suit again and located her Gunship. He began pounding on it in order to draw her near. Once she arrived, he hurled the Gunship at her. He then engaged her in battle. Samus was able to take advantage of spilled Fuel Gel leaked from her ship to slip Ghor up a few times, but he soon wised up and removed the fuel with his plasma gun.

Eventually Samus was able to wear him down by hitting his weakspot located on the back of his armor. He escaped from the armorsuit before it exploded, but before he could do anymore, a ghost-like Dark Samus arrived to finish him off. Although Samus attempted to stop Dark Samus from doing so, Ghor was absorbed into the ghost and gone for good.
