Bosses

Child Timeline

  • Queen Gohma: Parastic Armored Arachnid
    • The boss of The Great Deku Tree is a giant Gohma monster. She was summoned by Ganondorf to infect the Deku Tree, causing the tree's fatal illness. In battle Queen Gohma crawled along the ceiling and dropped down on Link or sent her own children to attack him. Queen Gohma's weak point was her eye. Link could stun her by hitting her eye with his slingshot or a Deku Nut. While she was stunned, Link was free to attack her with his sword. This led to Queen Gohma's destruction.
  • King Dodongo: Infernal Dinosaur
    • The boss of Dodongo's Cavern is a giant Dodongo. He was a gluttonous monster who ate everything in sight. The king also had one ability that no other Dodongos had: he could imitate his Goron enemies by curling up into a ball and rolling around. He could also breathe a jet of fire. In his battle with the King Dodongo, Link tossed bombs into King Dodongo's mouth when he opened it to breathe fire. This stunned King Dodongo long enough for Link to attack him with his sword. After several slashes the king dizzily rolled into a pit of lava, which then hardened around his petrified body.
  • Barinade: Bio-Electric Anemone
    • The boss of Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly is a sea anemone charged with electricity. It could even blast concentrated blasts of lightning. Barinade was circled by large versions of its namesake, the Bari. It was located in the center of Jabu-Jabu's Belly, where it tormented the fish and held Princess Ruto. In the battle Link first had to use his Boomerang to disconnect the tentacles rooting Barinade to the ceiling and destroy the Barii. Barinade then began spinning around in the manner of a Peahat, but Link stunned it with his boomerang and attacked it with his sword until Barinade was defeated.

Adult Timeline

  • Phantom Ganon: Evil Spirit From Beyond
    • The boss of the Forest Temple is a shadowy doppleganger of Ganondorf. At first, Phantom Ganon rides a horse through one of the room's paintings while illusions of Phantom Ganon appeared in the other paintings. Link was able to detect the real Phantom Ganon and attack him with his arrows until he lost his horse. Phantom Ganon then attacked Link with magical bolts, but Link reflected them back at him. These stunned Phantom Ganon so that Link could attack with his sword. Ganondorf then banished Phantom Ganon to the gap between dimensions.
  • Volvagia: Subterranean Lava Dragon
    • The boss of the Fire Temple is an ancient dragon whom had haunted the Gorons long ago. Volvagia erupted from various lava pits in the battle, breathed jets of flame and attacked Link with his sharp claws. Link managed to attack Volvagia with the Megaton Hammer whenever he emerged from a pit and then attack Volvagia with the Master Sword while he was weakened. After being defeated, Volvagia's body burst into flame, leaving behind a skeleton and a skull that disintegrated.
  • Morpha:Giant Aquatic Amoeba
    • The boss of the Water Temple was a watery creature with a small glowing sphere that operated as its nucleus. Morpha tried to attack Link by strangling it with watery tentacles. However Link could harm Morpha by using his Longshot to yank out Morpha's nucleus and attack the nucleus while it was on dry ground. After enough hits, Morpha was destroyed.
  • Bongo Bongo: Phantom Shadow Beast
    • The boss of the Shadow Temple was an evil shadow spirit. At one point it was sealed at the bottom of Kakariko Well by Impa. But it escaped with help from Ganondorf and took up residence in the Shadow Temple. It defeated Impa next time she met him. Only Bongo Bongo's hands, which are detached from his body, were visible without using the Lens of Truth. Bongo Bongo mostly used his hands in battle. Link was able to temporarily incapacitate Bongo Bongo's hands by firing arrows into them. At this point Bongo Bongo attempted diving at Link, but he was able to reel Bongo Bongo in with his Longshot and then slash him with his sword. Link eventually slew Bongo Bongo.
  • Twinrova: Sorceress Sisters
    • The bosses of the Spirit Temple are a pair of Gerudo witches known as Koume and Kotake. They attack with elemental blasts of fire and ice. Link was able to hurt the two witches by reflecting one's blasts at the witch with an opposite element. After being blasted enough times, Koume and Kotake fused together into one being known as Twinrova. Twinrova attacked with blasts of both fire and ice. However, Link was able to collect three blasts of one element in his Mirror Shield and then reflect it at Twinrova to stun her so that he could attack her with his sword. After enough hits, Twinrova was killed and split back into Koume and Kotake.
  • Ganondorf: Great King of Evil
    • The first part of the final boss battle in Ganon's Tower is Ganondorf in his normal Gerudo form. Ganondorf floated in the center of the arena and fired magical blasts in the manner of Phantom Ganon, but he also had blasts that were non-reflectable. Ganondorf also slammed the ground to make pieces of the arena fall apart. In order to stun Ganondorf, Link had to fire Light Arrows at him. This left Ganondorf vulnerable to Link's sword strokes until he was defeated.
  • Ganon
    • The second part of the final boss battle, taking place in the ruins of Ganon's Tower. Ganon is the monstrous form that Ganondorf takes on with his Triforce of Power. Ganon attacked Link with a pair of swords. Link could harm Ganon by attacking his tail. However, he was seperated from his Master Sword so had to use either his Megaton Hammer or Biggoron's Sword. Link could also stun Ganon with Light Arrows. After enough hits, Link regained his Master Sword and used it to defeat Ganon.
