Background[edit]

Book One[edit]

Palla was the oldest of three sisters living in Macedon. With her sisters Catria and Est, they formed the Whitewings mercenary group that operated under General Minerva's command. During the War of Darkness, they were reluctantly sent into battle against the Altean army as Minerva's sister Maria was held hostage by the enemy. They were sent into battle with Marth's army at the Lefcandith Valley in Chapter 7 (6 SNES), but Minerva had them pull back either after she got sick of the Dolhr general's tactics or was defeated. They were fully prepared to switch over to Marth's side except for the lingering threat of Maria being held hostage, and the Whitewings were seperated from Minerva once Dolhr learned of their plans.

The moment they heard of Maria's rescue, Palla and Catria left Macedon and joined with Marth's army at Gra in Chapter 14 (11 SNES), although Est had taken a detour to Grust. It is implied in her death quotes in the sequels that fell in love with Abel, but this seems to have been unrequited as he wound up hooking up with Est. Palla's ending says that she was once self-assured, but her heart was now in knots. Regardless, she helped in rebuilding Macedon.

Gaiden[edit]

Palla and Catria traveled to the continent of Valencia after Est was captured by pirates in order to save her. In Chapter 3 they joined with Celica's army when they were going to attack the pirates' headquarters. Est was eventually rescued and after the war there ended, they returned to Archanea happily (or full of sorrow if one or two of the sisters had died).

Book Two[edit]

Three years after the War of Darkness, a rebellion broke out in Macedon. Palla and Catria were able to escape, although Minerva was captured. In Chapter 3, she went to join with Marth's army to help in rescuing Minerva, meeting Julian along the way.and learning of Lena's disappearance, which reminded her of Maria's most recent disappearance. Her ending simply says that she buried her troubling thoughts and perservered with her work, although Catria's ending implies she left Macedon (unless Catria's ending is erroneously refering to Est).

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Palla and her sisters are represented collectively as one Ace Primary Spirit, referred to as simply Pegasus Sisters. Their Spirit came with the extra effect of boosting the player character's jumping ability. When fought in a Spirit battle, the Pegasus Sisters' Spirit would possess three copies of Lucina with hair colors matching their original selves. In the battle, they gained an extra jump and had a boosted chance of delivering critical hits.

Trivia[edit]

  • Palla, Catria, Est and Camus are all unique in that they appear in all five of the main Archanea-set Fire Emblem games. However, Palla is the only one of the three pegasus sisters who is not playable in BS Fire Emblem: Akaneia Senki (although she makes a brief appearance within the chapter).
  • Palla and her sisters would be the first instance of another recurring theme throughout the Fire Emblem games, being pegasus knight sisters who can use a triangle attack together. Later examples would include Thany, Tate and Juno in Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi and Fiora. Farina and Florina in Fire Emblem.
  • In Monshou no Nazo, she receives Support Bonuses from Minerva and Able, while in Shadow Dragon, she receives Support Bonuses from both of them and Frey.
