Lott is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi. He is a member of a band of mercenaries.

Background[edit]

As a boy, Lott grew up in the Western Isles with his childhood friend, Ward. Unlike his friend, Lott was considerably brighter than his counterpart and engaged sometimes in games of strategy. Both of them had sisters looking out for them, which gave them a common ground. During their childhood, they happened upon an abandoned mine. Their versions of the story differ, but according to Lott, they found a variety of snakes in the mine, which is why it had been closed.

After both had reached adulthood, they became mercenaries together and eventually joined a band of mercenaries led by Dieck. Lott had joined to earn money for medicine for his mother, but she ended up dying before he could afford it. It was a small group and the only other member was Thany. Prior to the outbreak of the war with Bern, Dieck was hired by Lord Eliwood to provide support for his son, Roy who was joining the Lycia Alliance. Lott and his others found Roy already engaged in a battle with Lord Rude, prompting them to go ahead and provide their aid. He continued to support Roy in the rest of the war.

Following the war, Dieck broke up the mercenary band. He returned home to his life on the Western Isles and married a childhood friend. He lead a meager but fulfilling life. He rarely spoke of his role in the war to his family.

Support Conversation Summaries[edit]

Lott is capable of having support conversations with five other characters.

  • Dieck- The two talk about Roy. Lott thinks Roy is a good person, but Dieck says the battles are easy and they'll see Roy's true mettle when it's a battle of life or death. Later when the two talk, Dieck explains that he was one betrayed by an employer and that to them, mercenaries are just disposable. In their final conversation, Dieck says that Roy is the kind of person he can fight and die for his purpose and have no regrets.
  • Ward- In their first conversation, Ward talks about rushing into battle, but Lott tries to calm him down. Ward says he's not a little kid anymore and Lott mutters under his breath that he hopes that's the case. In the second conversation, Ward finds out that Lott's mother had passed away while he was trying to earn money. Ward tells him he should head back to take care of his sister, but Lott said that was in the middle of a job and couldn't. In the final conversation, Ward tells Lott that he can't die because he has a little sister depending on him. Lott says the same to Ward about Mary and the two agree that they'll both go back to their hometown.
  • Thany- Their first conversation has Lott warning Thany about putting herself in danger , but she says he worries too much. He then notes that you can never be too cautious in battle. In the next conversation Thany asks why Lott worries so much about her. He tells her he has a younger sister at home and that being on the battlefield makes him worry for her. In the final conversation, Thany has some advice for Ward. She then gets close to him and tells him "don't stress yourself too much, big brother" and says the message was from his little sister.
  • Lance- In their first conversation, Lott and Lance introduce theirselves to one another and have a conversation about the oddities of the weapons triangle. In the following conversation, the two play a game of strategy (modeled after the Fire Emblem series) where Lott loses, but Lance tells him that his ability to see his mistakes makes him a better player than Allen, who usually loses in 2 turns. In the final conversation, Lott asks Lance what the odds of winning are. Lance answers that Roy's masterful use of strategy gives Lance the confidence to say they could never lose.
  • Echidna- The two meet and Echidna points out that Lott is from the Western Isles. She can tell because of certain facial features and asks if he'd be interested in helping her build a place there for people who lost their homes to war. Lott agrees, but only if he survives the war. Later they talk more about Echidna's plan and she mentions she has no money. Lott mentions an old abandoned mine he and Lott used to explore and she coerces him into showing it to her later. In their final conversation, Echidna asks how he's doing and how she needs him alive. Lott says he doesn't plan on dying because he has a sister to take care of, but that the battles are getting harder. She then says that he shouldn't worry so much and if something does happen, she'll be there to take care of things for him.
