Donkey Kong Land 2 is the sequel to the original Donkey Kong Land which was made as a companion to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

Story

Donkey Kong has been kidnapped by K. Rool and taken to Crocodile Island. Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong team up and travel to Crocodile Island on a rescue mission.

Gameplay

Donkey Kong Land 2 is like a Game Boy version of Donkey Kong Country 2 in many senses, featuring identical gameplay, the same story and the same worlds with some exceptions. Due to the Game Boy's limitations, Diddy and Dixie cannot use their new partnering attacks. All the levels have different designs from the Super Nintendo game, and two of the worlds (Crocodile Cauldron and Krem Quay) have been combined into one with one boss character being left out.

Legacy

Sequels

The game was followed by Donkey Kong Land III, which was strongly influenced by Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie's Double Trouble in the same way Donkey Kong Land 2 was influenced by Donkey Kong Country 2.
