Debut Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Marisa is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and one of two recruitable Myrmidons.

Background

As the daughter of a great swordsman, Marisa's entire life was spent in the pursuit of the blade. As a child she would train constantly, even to the point that her father taught her to sleep on the side of her non-dominant arm so that she would always be ready to fight. This was accomplished by placing swords in front and behind her while she slept, though the swords their selves were blunted and dulled. As a result, she grew up to be an extremely skilled fighter, though her rather unusual childhood left her being rather socially aloof and lacking in skills outside of fighting.

Marisa fought many men as she tried to become a better fighter, claiming to have best at least a thousand men. All of this was while she fought her father's shadow, attempting to come close to matching his skill though even at her best, she considered him to be immensely better. Eventually she met Gerik and joined his mercenary group, though she still remained largely distant and silent around her fellow mercenaries. When Grado began attacking the other nations to collect the Sacred Stones, Marisa was assigned to a different company by the Mercenary Guild.

In Eirika's path, Marisa was found working for Pablo, an army that was on the verge of capturing and defeating Innes as well as the mercenaries working for him, Gerik and Tethys. However once Gerik spoke to her, she joined his side. In Ephraim's path, Marisa was convinced by Ewan to go to her new employer and she joined Ephraim's army. Regardless of either path, Marisa continued to serve their side until Grado's defeat.

Possible Fates

Marisa has three different endings, depending on whether he reaches A-Support with Joshua or Gerik.

  • Default Ending - Marisa ended up starting her own elite mercenary battalion. Though many men continued to try and defeat her, none managed to match her blade.
  • Marisa and Joshua Ending - After Joshua won his match with her, he convinced her to come back to him with Jehanna where she would pledge service to the crown and become the top swordfighter. Though Joshua continued to enjoy gambling, for him Marisa was always the winner.
  • Marisa and Gerik Ending - Gerik continued his life as a mercenary and Marisa became the company's fencing instructor. He would eventually return the affection she gave him, though he soon learned that she was clumsy at everything but fighting.

Support Conversation Summaries

Marisa is capable of Support conversations with five other characters.

  • Colm - Colm approaches Marisa asking if she has seen a 'scary woman sword fighter' and begins describing her in an exaggerated fashion. After he leaves, Marisa concludes that he must have been talking about her. When they meet again, Colm has figured out who she is and admits that he was going to try and duel her, but after seeing her fight has concluded that she'd beat him senseless. He then admits that she scares him with the way that she fights in how she doesn't seem to fight the enemy, but rather someone else. Later Marisa finally admits that the person she is fighting is her father's shadow and that she's trying to top the 'mountain' of how good he was. Though not fully understanding it, Colm says he thinks she'll be able to get to the top and she comments that he's a nice guy.
