Venonat is a furry Bug-type Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation Pokémon games.

Information[edit]

Venonat have large eyes which function as radar units, which allows them to move around in darkness. Each eye is actually a cluster of many small eyes, and the eyes can also shoot defensive beams. They primarily live in the shadows of tall trees and eat small bugs, but they are also attracted by light instinctively. It will sleep in a hole in a tree until night falls, as this is when the bugs that they eat appear.

It is believed that Venonat's coat of thin and stiff hair has evolved over the years to protect their entire bodies. Poison also oozes from all over their body. Venonat evolved into Venomoth at Level 31.
