Tranquill is a loyal pigeon-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the middle stage of a three-step evolutionary line, evolving from Pidove and evolving into Unfezant.

Information[edit]

Tranquill evolves from Pidove at Level 21. They are primarily known for being able to return to their trainer, regardless of the distance which separates them. They are also believed to live deep within a forest, in a peaceful area where there is never any war.

It evolves into Unfezant at Level 32.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Tranquill is uncommonly found at Routes 6, 7 and 12, Pinwheel Forest, Lostlorn and Dragonspiral Tower. They only appear during the autumn, summer and spring seasons, except at Route 12 and the forests where they can be found in all seasons.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Tranquill could be found at the treetops area of World Axle's second basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, it appeared at Cove Town and was befriended through a tag race.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, a Tranquill was first shown belonging to Ash's new rival Trip. Ash's Pidove later evolved into a Tranquill while fighting off Venipede at Castelia City and has remained a main part of his Unova team. One episode featured a group of Tranquill antagonizing the group after a wild Purrloin had bothered them, but they ultimately saved the group from a sand pit once the Purrloin apologized and pleaded with them. Tranquill have also made minor appearances belonging to several other trainers.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a pun on "tranquil" (due to the references to its peaceful nature), combining it with "quill" (which is a bird's feather).
