Purrloin is a cat-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. Its evolved form is Liepard.

Information[edit]

It is a sneaky cat Pokémon that uses its cute appearance as a ruse to deceive others. Purrloin steal from people for fun. They use their cute act both to make victims lower their guard before stealing from them and to earn easy forgiveness from the same victims when they are caught. It primarily attacks with its sharp claws.

Purrloin evolves into Liepard at Level 20.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Purrloin appeared uncommonly at Routes 2 and 3, and it more commonly was found at the Dreamyard.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Purrloin could be found at Challenger's Ground (forest and field areas) and the forest area of World Axle's first basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Purrloin appeared in Cove Town after the player had befriended Meowth and was itself befriended through a tag race.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • One episode of the anime featured a Purrloin that had been separated from its trainer, named Misha, and assumed it had been abandoned. The Purrloin met with Ash's group after getting in trouble with a flock of Tranquill for stealing their berries. Meowth and Oshawott both fell in love with the Purrloin, which turned out to be actually male, but it went along with their assumptions to manipulate them. Purrloin later made things right after seeing that its trainer really did care for it, and it wound up returning to the trainer. Other Purrloin have made minor appearances.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Purrloin was the first Pokémon used by N during his first match with Black in the Black/White arc.

Trivia[edit]

  • It is a pun on "purloin" (which means to steal) combining it with "purr" (the onomatopoeia for a cat noise).
