Talk:Picross 3D

I do have a general article question: Do you guys reference statements in articles? I haven't seen it done on any of the pages I've viewed here, which I'll admit has been a small sample. Example of Article Referencing at WiKirby This isn't the absolute best example, just the first I grabbed. Axiomist 01:29, 29 May 2010 (MDT)

Honestly, we have not truly done citations on the site aside from the occasional website. I guess it's kinda the remainder of the casual style we used in the beginning. I believe we can implement such things in the future, but it would take a while to go through all the articles to do so, and I feel like there's a limit to the things that truly need citations. For internet sources such as interviews and official website info, definitely. But stuff such as basic gameplay info seems self-explanatory. Oddly enough, I notice that even Bulbapedia doesn't have such references/citations. I guess this stuff would probably be Masa's call in the end.

Understood. I see 3 tiers to citations
  • Ultra Citationist= Sources as many points as possible to manuals, ingame text, guides, developer quotes, and internet content on the subject.
  • Moderate Citationist= Sources only points of contention, or statements that aren't immediately evident to be true.
  • Non-Citationism= Nothing is referenced at all.
Of course, I'm not pushing any philosophy here, personally I'm in the top group. But if I were to recommend any it'd be the second. Another matter entirely, I was browsing through the portals, and noticed there wasn't anything for Picross. Being a rather minor series, if one at all, I propose a more general portal/category for puzzle games which would include Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. Axiomist 13:59, 29 May 2010 (MDT)
The portals section probably needs to undergo some heavy cleaning up by this point so any help there would definitely be useful. I'm not sure if I'd group Picross in the same league as games like Brain Age (unless it were a Touch Generations portal). Maybe we can group it with other various minor Nintendo Puzzle games like Magnetica, Polarium, Puzzle League, Yoshi's Cookie and Wario's Woods? Though maybe Puzzle League is deserving of its own portal and I don't know if a game being primarily tied to a character would make it not count. WarioFan63 10:59, 30 May 2010 (MDT)
