Swalot is a toxic blob-like Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It is the evolved form of Gulpin.

Information[edit]

Gulpin evolves into Swalot at Level 26. It has no teeth, so it swallows all its enemies whole. Its mouth yawns very widely, and it can even swallow an automobile tire whole. Before swallowing its prey, Swalot will spurt out a hideously toxic fluid from its pores to spray the target. It can even sweat poison. Like its previous form, Swalot has powerful stomach acid which can digest anything. The only thing that Swalot cannot digest is its own stomach.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Swalot has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained through evolution.

Other Games[edit]

Swalot could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire as well as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. In Pokémon Trozei!, it appeared at Secret Storage 16 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Ranger, it was found at Fiore Temple. Swalot could be recruited in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness at Marine Resort.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Swalot has appeared in various episodes usually belonging to different trainers. During the Sinnoh series, Swalot has also been featured as one of Reggie's Pokémon. One episode also showed a Swalot painted to resemble a Grimer that was competing in a Pokémon Cosplay Contest.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Swalot has only made minor appearances in the Emerald arc as one of the Battle Frontier's Rental Pokémon.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a play on a combination of "swallow" and "lot".
