Larvesta is a fiery larval insect-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. Its evolved form is Volcarona.

Information

Larvesta is believed to have been born from the sun itself. They make their homes in the bases of volcanoes. Larvesta can repel its enemies by blasting fire from their five horns. When the time comes for it to evolve, Larvesta is apparently engulfed in flames. Larvesta evolves into Volcarona at Level 59.

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, a Larvesta will hatch from an egg given to the player by a man in a house at Route 18.

Trivia

• Its name is a combination of "larva" (since it of course is a young insect) with "Vesta" (the Roman goddess of hearth, home and family due to the eternally burning fire which represents her).
