Lampent is a lantern-like ghost Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the middle form of Litwick's evolutionary line and evolves into Chandelure.

Information

Lampent evolves from Litwick at Level 41. It is an ominous Pokémon that comes to dead bodies near the moment of death in order to steal their spirits from the bodies, presumably to be used as fuel in the same way that Litwick uses life energy. Because of this, Lampent is feared by many. They constantly wonder the cities in search of the spirits of the fallen.

It evolves into Chandelure when exposed to a Dusk Stone.

• In the Pokémon anime, Trip was eventually shown to have a Lampent among his team in the Unova series. Another episode featured a Lampent which lead a group of Litwick in attempting to terrorize Ash's group as well as Team Rocket in a haunted mansion.

• Its name is a pun on "lament" (an emotion of regret usually associated with ghosts) combined with "lamp".
