Kricketune is a melodic insect Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It is the evolved form of Kricketot.
Information[edit]
Kricketune evolves from Kricketot at Level 10. It can produce a unique and captivating sound by allowing its cry to resonate within the hollow of its stomach. Kricketune can compose melodies ad lib and uses these melodies to signal their emotions. Scientists study these melodic patterns, and an unspecified village holds a contest based on Kricketune's amazingly variable cries. It has knifelike arms which it crosses in front of its chest when it cries out.

In Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Versions, Kricketune could be commonly or uncommonly found at Routes 206, 210, 212, 214 and 25, Valor Lakefront and the Trophy Garden, being more common at night. In Platinum, it was only found at Route 206, Trophy Garden and at Valor Lakefront only in the morning and at night. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it uncommonly appeared at the National Park during the Bug-Catching Contest on Thursdays and Saturdays after the National Pokédex was unlocked. In Black and White, Kricketune was uncommonly found at the Dreamyard in the dark grass only and was more common in the underground area.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Kricketune could be recruited at the first eleven floors of Steam Cave. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Vien Forest. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Dangerous Cliff and the Forest Temple. Kricketune also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at the Silent Forest.

- In the Pokémon anime, a Kricketune was featured as one of Nando's main Pokémon that he used for Pokémon Contests in various episodes of the Sinnoh series. Other Kricketune have made occasional minor appearances.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, one chapter of the Diamond/Pearl arc featured a swarm of Kricketot and Kricketune that attacked Platina in a cave at Oreburgh Mines, but she was able to fend them off surprisingly easily using her Piplup. It was shown that the cave was used for training purposes, and the Pokémon had confused Platina for their latest sparring Pokémon. Another Kricketune was featured as an opponent later on which one of two scientists working for Team Galactic used in battle with Diamond and Platina. It was shown to be capable of cutting boulders with its sharp limbs.
