Jolteon is one of the original three choices of Eevee's seven alternate evolved forms that was introduced in the first generation games. It is the electric-type evolution and is obtained by exposing Eevee to the Thunder Stone.

Information

Jolteon's cells generate a low level electricity, and its fur's static electricity amplifies its power to the point where it can drop thunderbolts. Every hair on its body stands on end when it is charged with electricity, as its bristling fur is actually made of electrically charged needles. Jolteon can even accumulate negative ions in the atmosphere to blast out 1,000 volt lightning bolts. The hair on its body also bristles like needles when it is angry or startled, and Jolteon uses this spiky fur as a defense mechanism, being able to fire it in small bunches.

It is a sensitive Pokémon that can easily become sad or angry. It charges power every time its mood changes.

Other Games

Jolteon can be obtained only through evolution in Pokémon Pinball and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. In Pokémon Trozei!, it is found at Huge Storage 5 and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Ranger, it is found at Fiore Temple, while in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Haruba Desert.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Jolteon could be found on the first fifteen basement floors of Spacial Rift and the first nine basement floors of Deep Spacial Rift. In Pokémon Rumble, it was found at Eternal Tower. It appeared in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs at Wireless Tower and Thunder temple. In PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, Jolteon appeared at the Granite Zone.

Other Appearances

• Jolteon has appeared in several episodes of the Pokémon anime. A Kanto episode featuring a group of Eevee brothers with different Eevee evolutions had one brother with a Jolteon, and one of the Kimono Sisters was also shown with a Jolteon in the Johto episodes. One Orange Islands episode also featured a trainer who used a Jolteon as a sheepdog to manage his Magnemite. During the Sinnoh series, Volkner used one during his gym battle with Ash.
• In the Pokémon Adventures manga, a Team Rocket microchip causes an Eevee that Red winds up owning to spontaneously evolve into any of its original three evolutions, then regress back or switch to another evolution, and Jolteon was included in this. This process ended when Eevee permanently evolved into Espeon in the Gold/Silver/'Crystal arc, however.

Trivia

• Its name is simply a combination of "jolt" (as in electric jolt) and "eon", which is used as the suffix for all of Eevee's evolutions.
