Gothorita is a hypnotic, dark-colored Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the middle form of Gothita's evolutionary line and evolves into Gothitelle.

Information[edit]

Gothorita evolves from Gothita at Level 32. The source of its potent psychic power is said to be starlight. Gothorita usually mark star positions at night by using their psychic powers to levitate stones. They are also known for being manipulative, as they use their abilities of hypnosis to control both people and Pokémon. Tales have been told about Gothorita leading people astray across the land.

It evolves into Gothitelle at Level 41.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black Version, Gothorita could be commonly found at Route 9.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Gothorita have appeared in the tower areas of Challenger's Ground, Frozen Tundra and World Axle's second basement floor. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Gothorita was part of Gothitelle's group that worked for Darkrai in the Wish Park, although the Gothorita was said to have previously lived at the Tech Area. The Gothorita could be befriended through battle at the Wish Castle following the defeat of Reshiram and Zekrom. It was described as having become strong to protect Gothitelle and Gothita.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, a Gothorita was first shown in the fourteenth movie with a small role where its trainer had it used its power to extract juice from fruits at a festival. A Gothorita was also featured as Yuuto's partner in a multi-part episode.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Gothorita have appeared during the Black/White arc in the ownership of some Team Plasma grunts.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name seems to be a combination of "goth" (as in the gothic lolita fashion style which inspired the appearances of Gothorita with the rest its family) with "senorita" (a Spanish word used to address a female, used because of Gothorita's feminine appearance, despite the possibility of male Gothorita).
