Gloom is the middle evolved form between Oddish and Vileplume introduced in the first generation games; from the second generation onwards, it could alternately evolve into Bellossom.

Information[edit]

Gloom evolves from an Oddish at level 21. In this stage, it more clearly resembles a blooming flower. The ooze flowing from its mouth appears to be drool, but it is actually nectar or sweet honey that is used to attract prey. This substance is very sticky and will cling stubbornly if touched. Despite this drool-like syrup's sweetness, it and Gloom's pollen are notorious for their disgusting odor, that can be smelt from a mile away. People who get too close can faint from the stench or experience memory loss. However, it is said that one of 1,000 people actually enjoy its scent.

The Gloom itself apparently enjoys its own foul stench and drips even more honey after smelling its own noxious fumes. The stench from its pistil worsens when it is in danger, and it does not release its usual stinky aroma when it is feeling calm and secure.

Gloom can evolve into either a Vileplume with a Leaf Stone or a Bellossom with a Sun Stone.
