Escavalier is an armored insect-like Pokémon that as introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the evolved form of Karrablast.

Information[edit]

Escavalier evolves from Karrablast as a result of the electrical stimulation which is placed on a Karrablast when it is traded with a Shelmet, with the same process causing Shelmet's evolution into Accelgor. Escavalier gains the Shelmet's shell covering as it evolves, and it becomes steel armor which protects its entire body. They fly around at high speeds and attack with their pointed spears. Escavalier are known for bravely facing their opponents even when in trouble.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Escavalier has not been found in the wild and can only be gained through evolution.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, it was found at the treetops area of World Axle's second basement floor. They could also appear in any cave area as a harbinger of an encounter with Cobalion. In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Escavalier appeared at the Train Depot in the Tech Area and it could be befriended through battle after befriending Scizor. The Escavalier was described as a former battle friend of Scizor's, with the two having a falling out because of how absorbed Scizor got in Chase.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Escavalier was first shown in a minor appearance in one episode of the Unova series about Pokémon movies. An Escavalier was shown battling a Golurk in one such feature known as Wonder Fighters. It was later featured in one episode, where Professor Juniper and Bianca traded their respective Karrablast and Shelmet to trigger their evolutions. The Escavalier initially tried to attack Bianca and did not obey her, but it calmed down and became more obedient when fighting alongside Accelgor in a tag battle.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a combination of "escargot" (with his French for snail) with "cavalier" (a name for a mounted soldier who usually wields swords) or possibly "chevalier" (the French word for a knight).
