David Jr. is a recurring character from the The Legend of Zelda series who acts as one of Tingle's three identical cohorts. Unlike the other two (Ankle and Knuckle), David Jr. is not related to Tingle by blood (at least during his initial appearance) and he was actually forced into working with Tingle and his brothers.

Background

In The Wind Waker, it was said that David Jr. was the son of a deceased explorer whom had once seen the legendary Ghost Ship. At the age of seventeen, David Jr. set out to sea to fulfill his dream of finding the Ghost Ship and the treasures contained within it. However he was poorly prepared for sea travel, easily become seasick, and he found himself soon on Tingle Island. He was told by Ankle that "Self comes before Wealth" and put to work turning the wheel. He really hated being associated with the others and wished that Knuckle would return to turn the wheel instead. In particular, he hated the costume most of all.

In Four Swords Adventures, David made a small appearance during the Tingle Tower mini-games. In The Minish Cap, he and the other members of the Tingle entourage were in different locations around Hyrule. Like the others, David Jr. was fusing kinstones in order to meet fairies. He was situated in a cave in the Trilby Highlands and would tell Link how many more times he had to fuse kinstones, although he was less than enthusiastic about it. He was situated in the northern part of the Minish Woods, where he complained about the costume he was forced to wear and wished that he could instead be an adventurer like Link

Trivia

• In Breath of the Wild, one of the islands off the eastern shore of Hyrule is named Davdi Island in reference to him. It is located in a chain of islands that are named after Tingle and his cohorts.
