Barry is an optional partner in Super Paper Mario, found in the Bitlands. Barry creates a shield of spikes around Mario and co. that will temporarily protect them from harm and can damage enemies that touch it. The shield will also bounce enemy attacks back at the enemy if timed correctly.

Mario and co. first encounter Barry shortly after Tippi is captured by Francis. Though not offering to join the group, he gives them hints about how to reach Fort Francis and asks them to return if they do manage to save Tippi. Upon completing Chapter 3, Mario and co. can return to Barry and, impressed with their abilities, he will join the party.

Barry's card can be found on the second floor of the Flopside Outskirts. Near the path that leads to the Pit of 100 Trials, there is a series of three holes in the floor. Jumping into the middle hole will take Mario and co. to a room with zigzagging platforms and a chest at the bottom with the card inside. It can be sold for 132 coins.
