TEC-XX
Species Computer
Affiliation X-Nauts
Debut Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

TEC-XX was made to be the perfect computer. It was stationed in the X-Nauts' moon base and constructed by Grodus himself. In an odd twist this computer beheld Princess Peach and was changed. It began acting strangely and summoned Peach into the computer room to find out why. Shocked, Peach explained that TEC was in love with her.

As Peach taught TEC about love, the computer gave Peach special privelages and allowed her to send e-mails to Mario. TEC soon grew concerned, however, wondering why Grodus was keeping her captive. And TEC also had conflicts about whether to help Peach or obey Grodus. TEC sent Peach out on several missions throughout the base until she brought him Grodus's private data disc, which TEC slowly analyzed until it found out the truth- Peach was to be sacrificed to revive an ancient demon!

TEC was finally ready and told Peach everything about Grodus's plans, and urged her to flee. But then Grodus found out at that moment and shut down TEC, erasing all his memory, programs and files. But in its last moments of memory TEC sent out one last e-mail from Peach to Mario and declared its love for her.

But TEC wasn't done with yet. That silly dictator forgot to erase TEC's back-up files. Mario came to TEC after Mario had claimed the Crystal Star in the base and was looking for a way out. TEC put the last of its power reserve into activating the teleporter to Rogueport, then after they were safely gone, declared its love for Peach again as it caused the base to self-destruct.

And TEC survived that too. Repaired by Peach's attendents, TEC is still operational in the remains of the X-Naut moon base.

Trivia[edit]

  • After deactivating TEC, Grodus says, "I'm sorry Princess but TEC is no longer in this world," referencing the classic Super Mario Bros. quote.
