Game Boy Wars Turbo is the second handheld game in the Famicom Wars series and third game overall. It is unique as being developed by Hudson Soft instead of Intelligent System. It was released on the Game Boy in a special tin casing and never released outside of Japan. It was made as a new version of the original Game Boy Wars which improved the game's speed and enemy AI, as well as adding 50 new maps and Super Game Boy support.

Hudson Soft went on to make Game Boy Wars 2 in November 1998, although the next Famicom Wars game would be Super Famicom Wars earlier that year.
