This game reprises some of the features introduced by the previous game, such as the skills system, but also introduces new features such as the option to have soldiers to dismount from horses, fatigue stats which will cause soldiers to become tired and unable to battle if used too much, the ability to capture enemies, the infamous "fog of war" which could obstruct battles and  the ability to rescue other player units, the latter two would become regular parts of the games.
