Exeggutor is a palm tree-like Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation games. It is the evolved form of Exeggcute.

Information[edit]

Exeggutor evolves from Exeggcute when exposed to a Leaf Stone. They are said to hail from the tropics and are also known as "The Walking Tropical Forest" or "The Walking Jungle". It has three nut-like heads which each think independently, although these heads are friendly and never squabble. Their heads steadily grow larger due to exposure to sunlight. It is said that on rare occasions, usually from growing too big, one of the heads will fall off and emit a telepathic call to become part of an Exeggcute.

An Exeggutor can grow many heads in a good environment. They also have noisy cries due to each head thinking about what it likes.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Exeggutor have not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving Exeggcute.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Pinball, it was obtained solely through evolution. A Shadow Exeggutor could be snagged from Greevil at Citadark Island in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. After being purified, this Exeggutor could be transferred to any of the third generation color versions. In Pokémon Channel it appeared at Cobalt Coast on clear days. In Pokémon Trozei!, Exeggutor was found at Endless Level 52, Endless Level 66, Forever Level 2 and Mr. Who's Den.

It could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, it could be recruited at the fourth through twelfth floors of Apple Woods and the first nineteen basement floors of Happy Outlook. Exeggutor also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at Windy Prairie.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • The Alolan form of Exeggutor appeared in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as one of the Pokémon that could be summoned from the Poké Ball item. When summoned, it would simply stand and slowly walk around. Its function is to act as a living wall, as its height makes it difficult to get over, and thus it could be used to trap opponents. Within the game, Alolan Exeggutor was also present as an Advanced-rank Support Spirit (which allowed the player fighter to start a battle equipped with a Back Shield). When fought against in a Spirit battle, the Alolan Exeggutor would possess a giant Palutena in a timed stamina battle where it focused on using her up smash attack, and an Alolan Exeggutor would be summoned from a Poké Ball at the start of the battle.

Other Media[edit]

  • Exeggutor was featured in one episode of the Pokémon anime where Melvin's Exeggcute hypnotized Ash into catching various Exeggutor for him. However, his Exeggcute then evolved into another Exeggutor, and they all accidentally hypnotized each other into going on a rampage until Ash, Misty and Brock were able to snap them out of the trance by using Ash's Charmander to set them on fire. An Exeggutor also appeared as one of Ash's opponents in his Indigo League battles, which wound up being beaten by Ash's rookie Krabby.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Exeggutor was shown as one of Blue's Pokémon and eventually wound up being part of the team that stayed behind to protect his gym and accept challengers while Blue was away. Bill's Exeggcute also evolved into an Exeggutor by the FireRed/LeafGreen arc.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a pun on "executor" combined with "eggs".
