Colm is a playable unit in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and is the only recruitable thief in the game.

Background

As a boy growing up in Lark, Colm grew up with a penchant for thievery. In his youth he would often steal the fruit off the trees from Neimi's grandfather. In response to this, her grandfather would shoot arrows at Colm to try and scare him away. Though her grandfather was an excellent shot and never missed, he purposely did not hit Colm. However Colm always credited this to his own skill as being even faster than wild animals. But as hew grew up in Lark, he was always close friends with Neimi, who would always follow him around and often break down crying, largely because of Colm's actions, despite the protective role he took with her, such as the time he rescued her when she fell into a river, fixing her grandfather's bow, and protecting her from bullies; as well as being there when her grandfather died.

After the Grado army invaded Renais and crushed its army, Lark started being razed by the local bandits led by a man named Bazba. Colm and Neimi were the only ones to escape the village's destruction. However Colm resolved to go into the bandit's lair and steal back Neimi's mirror, one that had belonged to her mother and held great sentimental value. After parting ways with her, he rain into a group of soldiers led by Princess Eirika. He didn't recognize her and when bumping into her, stole her royal bracelet and made off with it. While he continued on towards the bandit's base, the princess soon learned of his theft and set out after him, meeting up with Neimi along the way.

Colm was able to infiltrate the bandit's hideout and started stealing to his heart's content, but once Neimi found him inside, he dismissed her and asked her to stay out of the way. Once the bandits were defeated, he presented Neimi with her mirror, even though she chided him for leaving her. Following their reunion, Seth pressed Colm to return the bracelet he had stolen. Colm then convinced him to bring he and Neimi along, claiming that they'd be useful to have and that with their village gone, there was nowhere for them to go. He would continue with Eirika for the rest of her journey until Grado's defeat.

Possible Fates

Colm has two different endings, depending on whether he reaches A-Support with Neimi.

  • Default Ending - Politely declining to work as a spy for Renais, he returned to his hometown and became a chivalrous rogue that helped people from the shadows.
  • Colm and Neimi Ending - The two friends became lovers and were eventually wed. Because Colm worried for Neimi's safety and well-being, he gave up his adventurous way and settled down. The two would have a son and daughter who would inherit their mother's skill in archery.
