The 'Cloaking Burrow-nit is a predator with needle-like tongue that impales its prey.

Information

This predator hides in the ground, waiting for its prey to arrive. When it emerges, only the top portion of its body is revealed and it does not come out all the way. When its prey comes into range, it will shoot out its needle like mouth to grab an enemy and devour it. However, since it does not come out of the ground it is still rather slow. This is advantagous for rear attacks which it has little defense against.

The most distinctive feature on the creature is its snake-eye pattern on its shell, possibly used to scare off larger predators. This distinctive red pattern and the spikes around its mantle make it easy to identify. The shell itself provides a frame that fixes its muscular system in place, which allows for its deadly needle-launching attack.

Trivia

  • The Cloaking Burrow-nit yeilds 3 pokos or 8 seeds, but requires 8 pikmin to carry.
  • Louie's Cooking Notes: Boil in the shell with a pinch of salt until bright red, and serve piping hot with tartar sauce.
