This is a list of all the characters who appear in Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II.

Main Characters[edit]

Mike is a junior in High School and the hero of the last game, StarTropics. After being contacted by Mica about a secret message from King Hirocon, his uncle is able to figure out the magic words to the Oxford Wonder World. Mike however ends up blurting them out, sending him plunging through time in a quest to collect the seven Tetrads.

The eldest of the Argonian children and daughter of King Hirocon, she has been staying at C-Island with the Coralcola chief. However she has recently discovered her telepathic ability which she puts to use in alerting Mike to a riddle regarding the Oxford Wonder World. After he is sent through different time periods, she is able to continue contacting him by telepathy. Eventually she is taken captive by Zoda-Z until Mike arrives to save her.

The wizard in King Arthur's court himself, Merlin appears multiple times to assist Mike in his quest with both advice and the powerful Psychic Shockwave ability. He first appears in Ancient Egypt as a monkey, then a donkey in the Old West, and finally as an owl in Camelot. It is there that he transforms into his true form and tells Mike he has been helping him. He also reveals that he is an old friend of King Hirocon and had agreed to assist the person who would eventually collect the Tetrads. He also told Arthur of Mike's exploits, which allowed Mike to fight the evil dragon that was in possession of a Tetrad.

Though Zoda was destroyed in StarTropics, he was not defeated for good. Three clones of him were created - Zoda-X, Zoda-Y, and Zoda-Z. When they learn of Mike's quests for the Tetrads, the first two clones travel through time to collect the Tetrads and defeat their old nemesis. When the clones fail, the strongest of them all, Zoda-Z turns the villagers on C-Island into boars and kidnaps the Argonian children.

After his abduction in the last game, Dr. Steven Jones has taken to studying the Oxford Wonder World, a book that was found on the ship that had been carrying the Argonian Children. He was unable to solve the cipher in the book for some time until Mica spoke of a riddle that King Hirocon told her, which made the doctor realize he was supposed to use the cipher backwards. After misreading the translation, Mike repeated it correctly and was whisked off to another time period before Dr. Jones could stop him.

Hailing from the year of about 50 BC, Cleopatra is the Queen of Egypt and enjoys vacationing on the eastern shore of the Nile in her royal barge. However she ordered a pizza a long time ago from the Caesar's Hut in Rome, which has yet to arrive. When Mike shows up looking for a way across the Nile, she agrees to take him across if he collects the pizza for her.

After traveling to 19th century London, Mike runs into none other than Sherlock Holmes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fame. Holmes has learned of a robbery that is to happen at the museum by none other than Zoda-X, of whom Mike instantly recognizes. The two team up to stop him with Mike chasing him into the sewers and Sherlock moving into position to halt his escape. After Zoda's defeat, Sherlock Holmes deduces correctly that there must also be a Zoda-Y and Zoda-Z.

When Mike ends up in Venice during the late 15th century, he meets up with the inventor - painter Leonardo da Vinci. However Leonardo had met Zoda-X earlier who pressed the painter for information about a castle to the east and then froze him in plaster. After Mike frees the painter, he learns of Zoda's plan and resolves to go after him, but only after giving Leonardo da Vinci helpful advice in modernizing the Mona Lisa. As a way of thanks, Leonardo gives Mike a Katana sword from the Far East and a flying machine of his own creation.

The final time period Mike visits is none other than Camelot of legend. The kingdom is beset by an evil dragon and all of Arthur's knights are currently engaged in different quests. After hearing of Mike's exploits from the wizard Merlin, Arthur entrusts the boy with the mission to go defeat the dragon, allowing Mike access to the dragon's cave.

The chief of Coralcola village took in the Argonians after they were released from the Cubes in the last adventure. When Zoda-Z returned to capture the village, he and the other islanders were transformed into boars to keep them from interfering. After Zoda's defeat he was returned to normal and did his part by putting the Tetrads together, claiming to be a Tetris expert. Upon reassembling them, King Hirocon was released.

The king of the Argonians and father of Mica, his planet was destroyed by Zoda long ago. When he heard danger was coming, he sent Mica and six other children in an escape pod to escape. He then arranged with Merlin to place himself inside seven Tetrads and distribute throughout Earth's history until a hero could reunite them. Following his release by Mike Jones, he took the children back to Argonia to rebuild their home.
