Ashei is a young female warrior who appears as a supporting character in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Background

Ashei was raised in Hyrule's mountains by her father. He raised her as a son and taught her the arts of war, so she grew up to be tough and impolite compared to other women. She also quiet, as she preferred to keep statements brief. Ashei came to Hyrule Castle Town after hearing about how weak the Hyrulian soldiers were. Telma looked out for her pretty often, so Ashei began frequenting her bar, and she wound up becoming part of Telma's group that worked to help protect Hyrule from behind the scenes.

During the time of Twilight Princess, Ashei had heard about the death of Rutela and planned on investigating the events she heard about at Zora's Domain. When Ashei first saw Link, she made fun of his costume and rudely dismissed him. She claimed that lookint at his innocent face gave have her heartburn. She later apologized, having mistaken him for one of the pathetic Hyrule soldiers, and she since then came to be impressed by Link's valor. As the problem at Zora's Domain was already resolved, Ashei instead investigated Snowpeak Mountain. She saw it as a dangerous place, and in her research she found that a mysterious beast from the mountain had been sighted at Zora's Domain. Ashei spotted it, but she was unable to pursue it up the mountain due to a blizzard. She still made a sketch of the creature, which she gave to Link.

Ashei returned to the bar later on, having heard that the beast had not reappeared. She realized that most of the problems in Snowpeak and Hyrule were beyond her imagination andd wondered what really happened. Ashei did notice that Link's name was usually connected with most incidents and complimented him for his good work. The group appeared once more at Hyrule Castle to save Link, and Ashei wielded a bow to fight off monsters. During the ending credits, she was shown to be exploring the Temple of Time's ruins with Shad and Auru.

• According to supplementary material, she is around 24-25 years old.
• At Snowpeak Mountain, she wears what appears to be a yeti hide to protect from the cold.
• A trophy of Ashei appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
