Background[edit]

Raised in Silva, a small village in the countryside of Grado, Amelia lived alone with her mother. Her father had died early when she was young and eventually her mother became extremely ill. When Amelia was still a child, there was a bandit raid on her village. While she hid in terror under the bed, her mother Melina was captured by the bandits. With her mother assumed dead, Amelia dedicated herself to becoming stronger and when she was old enough, joined the Grado army as a new recruit, choosing the spear as a weapon.

While she was in the border town of Serafew preparing to join the army, she had a chance encounter with Eirika, though only in passing and neither spoke to one another. During Eirika's route, Amelia is sent on her first mission at Port Kiris in Carcino on the front lines. However she was convinced to change sides when Eirika or Franz talked to her. In Ephraim's path, Amelia encounters his party at Fort Rigwald. After being treated miserably by her commanding officer, Gheb, she is convinced by Ephraim or Franz to join the Renais army. She continued to fight on the side of the Renais royals until the end of the war.

Possible Fates[edit]

Amelia has five different endings, depending on whether he reaches A-Support with Franz, Ross, Ewan, or Duessel.

  • Default Ending - After the war, she returned to Grado and worked to rebuild the country. She found new friends and the strength she gained from the battlefield brought her happiness.
  • Amelia and Franz Ending - Following the war, Franz brought Amelia home with him to Renais. Though she joined the army for a time, she eventually retired her commission and married him. They had a daughter who grew to become a great knight like her parents.
  • Amelia and Ross Ending - Ross brought Amelia to his hometown and eventually she decided to stay. As time went on, the two eventually fell in love and were married. They would later have a son that grew up to be a great warrior like Ross, eventually surpassing him.
  • Amelia and Ewan Ending - With the war over, the two set out as they had promised and visited sights all over Magvel. As they traveled, the deeds they performed made them small legends. In time they settled down and together had a daughter.
  • Amelia and Duessel Ending - After returning to Grado, Duessel led Amelia to her mother. After a tearful reunion, Amelia stayed by Duessel's side and become his most trusted companion.

Support Conversation Summaries[edit]

Amelia is capable of support conversations with five other characters.

  • Franz - Amelia and Franz meet, and Amelia tells him how glad she is that the people in this army are nicer than in Grado and that there are people her age. Franz notes that they are both around the same age and suggests they become rivals, as he is envious of his brother's rivalry with Kyle. Amelia reluctantly goes along with this, although she says she does not want to fight Franz but he says they will only work together to become stronger and always try to become stronger than the other. In the next conversation, Amelia adjusts to the casual tone that rivals use, and they then discuss the war and Grado, with Amelia admitting her country was wrong in its invasion of Renais and denouncing it. She proclaims she now wants to believe in justice and know that she is doing the right thing. Franz is impressed by her dedication and assures Amelia that he will always be there for her, saying that they can be friends in addition to rivals. In the final conversation, Franz asks her why she wanted to be a soldier, which causes her to recall the bandit story and how she wanted to be strong enough to protect those dear to her. Franz then tells the story of his parents and how he swore to live every moment to its fullest. He then asks if he could walk alongside her in her path in life, saying that they seem to be walking towards the same goal and that he would protect her. This makes her very happy, and Amelia says that as a soldier she could protect him as well and be his shield to protect him, which leads Franz to promise he will be her sword and fight for her. He then assured her that she was not alone anymore.
  • Ross - In the first conversation, Amelia trips and accidentally hurts Ross, and he begins to attack her but she denies being a Grado soldier anymore. Ross eventually comes to believe this and that her "surprise attack" was an accident, and realizes that she has all the markings of a rookie soldier so he offers to protect her from hazing. In return he only demands she help him against enemies with swords, and she agrees, then thanks Ross for believing her. In the next conversation they exchange names and Ross says she has been improving and that he remembers what it's like to be a rookie. He assures her that they will both continue to improve and advance through the ranks. Ross then gives her a necklace that he bought long ago, although Amelia accepts it with reluctance. She says this is because she lived a modest life and could not afford something like that she considered everything precious and did not want Ross to part with something that was precious to him, although he assures her that it will be fine and jokes that he looks better with earrings than necklaces. In the final conversation, he checks up on Amelia and while talking about his aspirations comes to describe his father and then asks Amelia about her family. She briefly describes her parents' situations, which causes Ross to feel sorry about bring up something so painful. However, he immediately attempts to amend this by saying that he will be her new older brother due to the army being like a family. Amelia questions this because she thinks that they are the same age and in fact she might be older, which comes to anger Ross, although she finds his anger cute. He says he will take her to his village after the war because they are brother and sister and will share both joy and sorrow as a family. Amelia notes that this sounds like a proposal, but Ross in turn accuses her of mixing up his words.
  • Neimi - Neimi greets Amelia be pointing the lovely shade her armor is and how it reminds her of a certain berry that grew in her hometown, the two end up befriending one another and decide to meet again soon. The two later talk about why Amelia joined the army, which Amelia says was because she used to feel helpless and didn't want to feel that way. Neimi comments that she received her training from her grandfather and ends up talking about a pet fox she used to own, prompting Amelia to talk about a bird she used to own. In their final conversation, the two begin talking about different men that they are interested in. Neimi alludes to the fact she's in love with Colm, though Amelia is less revealing about the man she's interested in.
  • Ewan - In the first conversation, Ewan and Amelia meet each other, and Ewan offers to show her some magic. She is initially afraid of the magic being harmful, but Ewan uses harmless spells that he describes as magic used to make girls happy. He asks Amelia to show him some lance tricks sometime. Amelia is reluctant due to thinking it is boring but Ewan tells her it probably is not and even if it is, it can be made fun. Amelia ponders his words after he leaves and notes that it makes a good rule to live by. In the next conversation, Ewan scares her and says it is his way of making their meeting a little more fun. She then shows him her lancework, and Ewan is impressed, and says he likes her outfit as well. He denies teasing her and asks her about her style but then also points out a stain on her armor. In the final conversation, Ewan asks her what places she has been to, which leads Amelia to realize she had never left Grado prior to the war. Ewan goes on to describe all the places he traveled with Saleh and offers to show her all of the places he has been to, describing them poetically. Amelia agrees to this, telling him that he fills her with energy, and they then decide to put an end to the war as soon as possible so that they could take their trip.
  • Duessel - Amelia comes to Duessel to praise his skill and ask him to help her in battle. Duessel seems to recognize her face but cannot remember where from, blaming his age although Amelia boosts his ego by telling him he looks quite young. Duessel agrees to protect her in battle but still wonders where he knows her from. In the next conversation, Duessel tutors Amelia on fighting with spears and the weapons triangle, and suggests that she become multi-proficient by learning to fight with multiple weapons. She then goes off to use practice her skills, explaining that it is to battle one of the Knights of Renais (likely Franz) as it is a way that they keep track of each other's progress. Duessel then remembers who she is, but is too late to tell her as she had already left. In the final conversation, Duessel catches up with Amelia and asks her about her mother, finding out that she is the daughter of Melina. Duessel tells her the story of how she rescued Melina and that she is still living in another village. He had seen Melina's face reflected in Amelia's, and Amelia begins to cry, and even Duessel, claiming that age must have loosened his tear ducts, begins to sniff as well.
