Bosses

Birdo2.gif
    • A Birdo appears as the boss of nearly every level, and sometimes as a level's sub-boss. Pink Birdos spit out eggs, Red Birdos shoot both fireballs and eggs, and Green Birdos shoot only fireballs. A Birdo can only be defeated if one of its one eggs or another projectile is tossed at it three times.
  • Mouser
Mouser2.gif
    • Mouser was a shades-wearing mouse who acted as the boss of the first and sixth worlds. His attack pattern consisted of standing on a platform and throwing bombs on his foes below. He was seemingly invulnerable, save for the bombs he used as weapons. Mario and his friends were able to catch his bombs and throw them back at him and defeat him. When they faced him again he was tougher and faster and protected by sparks, but was still defeated.
      • A branch of creatures, known as Lil' Mousers and later just called Mousers were featured in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Paper Mario; they are smaller than the actual Mouser.
      • In the original Doki Doki Panic there was also a third albino Mouser instead of Clawgrip.
  • Triclyde
Triclyde2.gif
    • Triclyde was a three-headed snake who was the boss of the second world. His attack pattern consisted of standing on a platform and spitting fireballs at his opponent. His deadly fireballs provided a challenge to avoid, but Mario and his friends used nearby mushroom blocks to throw at him and damage him. After defeating him, Mario and his friends were able to proceed to the next world.
      • In the original Super Mario Bros. 2, Triclyde was the boss of world 6 as well.
  • Robirdo

    • A mechanical version of Birdo, Robirdo was the boss of the third world. It was found in a long corridor with chains hanging from the ceiling located at the bottom of a large facility. With its wheels it was able to move rather fast and with its weight cause the ground to shake. Its main attack was its gigantic eggs shot from the mouth, quite like a real Birdo. In order to defeat the mechanical monster in Super Mario Advance, Mario and his friends had to climb the chains to avoid the attacks. They would then pick up a collosal eggs and throw it back at Robirdo. After several attacks, Robirdo was soon defeated. Afterwards, Mario and his friends were able to proceed to the next world.
  • Fryguy

    • A flaming enemy, Fryguy was (ironically) the boss of the frozen fourth world. Unlike the more stationary Mouser and Triclyde, he actually floated around the stage trying to hit his enemies with his burning body. He was vulnerable to the mushroom blocks nearby, but was hardly defeated. After a few attacks he separated into four small mimi-Fryguys. These small flames were unable to fly and were quickly put out by mushroom blocks. After defeating him, Mario and his friends were able to proceed to the next world.
  • Clawgrip
Clawgrip2.gif
    • A giant crab, Clawgrip was the boss of the fifth world. His attack pattern was rather simple, though effective. He stood at the end of a room next to a pile or rocks, picking a boulder up one at a time to throw at his foe. However like in the fight with Mouser, Mario and his friends were able to fight fire with fire. They were able to jump on top of the rocks, pick them up, and toss them back at the giant crab. After defeating him, Mario and his friends were able to proceed to the next world.
      • He was not featured in the original Doki Doki Panic and was created solely for Super Mario Bros. 2.
  • Wart
Wart2.gif
    • Wart is the evil frog monster who is the game's final boss. He spits out bubbles from one end of the area. To defeat him, Mario and friends would have to retrieve vegetables produced by the Dream Machine and toss them into Wart's mouth. This would eventually lead to Wart's defeat.
