General Herman is the commander-in-chief of the Western Frontier forces. He is known for his short-temper and bundle of aggression that has caused two series of tanks to be named after him.
Background[edit]
War Hero[edit]
Thirty years ago, General Herman fought Tsar Gorgi when the Tundran leader invaded Western Frontier with intelligence that suggested the Frontier were in possession a super weapon. Herman skillfully engaged Gorgi's troops with his own and drove him back to Gorgi, though the Tsar was still suspicious. The invasion was in fact a ploy for Kaiser Vlad to do his own investigations in Frontier territory, but after Tundra and the Frontier achieved a shaky peace, the Kaiser fled.
Afterwards the Demilitarized Zone was established on the border. It was constantly patrolled and both sides amassed their armies on both sides. Although Marshal Nova had ambitions for peace, Herman was scrapping for a fight and always ready to be on call should war break out. In the time that had passed, he'd become something of a legend and many tanks had been named in his honor. He also gained the assistance of the two young officers, Brigadier Betty and Colonel Austin.
Battalion Wars[edit]
As it turned out, war did break out thanks to Tsar Gorgi, giving Herman another chance for battle. However the war against the Tundra didn't last long, as Gorgi's new ally, Kaiser Vlad of Xylvania, quickly turned on him and attacked the Frontier and Tundra forces. Following that, Herman and the other Frontier COs forged an alliance with Marshal Nova, the new leader of the Territories.
After pushing the Xylvania forces out of the Dune Sea, Herman and the Frontier pushed onward into the Coral Atolls, a series of islands belonging the the Sol Empire that had been captured by Vlad. With Empress Lei-Quo as a new ally, Herman and the Frontier forces continued to drive Xylvania back into their homeland.
The final drive to defeat Xylvania was nearly ruined when the Iron Legion was summoned by the Countess Ingrid. Despite a strong resistance from the legion, the Frontier and Sol Empire were able to destroy the Legion, leaving Vlad to make his last stand at the Vladstag. With the help of Nova's airforce, Herman and the Frontier were able to enter the castle, but not before Vlad made a final escape on a helicopter.
Battalion Wars 2[edit]
Following the war, General Herman spent time in the Solar Empire, where he and Betty were in charge of one of the Frontier bases there. When the Ango Islands invaded claiming the Empire were building a superweapon, Herman quickly scrambled to help assist the Frontier allies in turning back the invaders. When the Anglos had finally been turned back, General Herman along with Betty returned to the Frontier, rather than pursuing the invaders as Admiral A-Qira chose to do.
This was because the events reminded him of his earliest battles against Tsar Gorgi and his claims of a superweapon in Frontier hands. Herman related the events of his old battles to Betty and explained that he thought there was a connection. He was in fact correct, as Kaiser Vlad has used the battle as a ruse to draw Marshal Nova and his forces out of Tundra to become involved in the Anglo-Solar war.
Although Herman did not end up in the battle against Kaiser Vlad in Tundra, he was present to see the after effects of the superweapon when it was fired by Vlad. General Herman was present for the victory celebration afterwards, where he proudly saluted to his soldiers that had fought in the battle.
