Yeto is a friendly yeti who appears in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Background

Yeto lived in the Snowpeak Ruins within Snowpeak Mountain with his wife, Yeta. They both spoke in simplistic, stilted sentences. They were the only known yetis living near Hyrule and tended to isolate themselves from most others. Yeto still traveled to Zora's Domain sometimes to capture reekfish, which he had gained a taste for and liked for its nutritional value. Yeto was still friendly and welcomed visitors. He loved to sled and usually had Yeta join him. She was actually a better sledder than him. Yeto also cooked for his wife.

During Twilight Princess, he found a shard of the Mirror of Twilight when it landed on the mountain. Yeto took it back to their home, but it attracted monsters and caused Yeta to fall ill. So they locked it away on the third floor, and Yeto began working on a stew to try to make Yeta feel better. Yeto met Link afer followed the scent of a reekfish that Yeto had caught. Yeto welcomed Link to his home after jokingly asking if he was on a spiritual journey, but Link first had to keep up with him to successfully sled to the Snowpeak Ruins. Yeto than got to work on soup for his wife. He could not think of the right ingredients, but Link was able to bring him all of the ingrediants he needed, having found them on accident while trying to find the key to the mirror room with Yeta's directions. Yeto also offered him tastes of the meal as it was made. Yeta was later changed into Blizzeta by the Mirror Shard's infection, but she reverted to normal after Link defeated her. Yeto immediately rushed into the room to tend to her. He comforted her and told her she had only been dreaming. Yeto reminded her of their love, and they then produced a steady stream of hearts (one of which became a Heart Container).

When revisiting Snowpeak, Link could have sled races with Yeto and then Yeta. During the ending credits, Yeto and Yeta were represented only by another heart floating from the Snowpeak Ruins.
