In [[Mario Superstar Baseball]] characters fall under 4 categories: Balance, Technique, Speed and Power. There are a total of 8 characters in each category, resulting in a total of 32 unique characters in the game. However in order to complete 6 teams of 9 characters another 22 characters where added. These characters are recolorations but have their own status for Fielding, Batting, Pitching and Running.

*[[Mario]]
+
Each unique character has a special ability that helps them in certain situations. All characters have one, captains have two. Captains are also able to use a special kind of ball when both pitching or batting that use up Star Power which can be refilled every time a Star Chance appears: if the player's team is batting a hit will earn one Star Power, if they are pitching forcing out the player will earn it. Also fields have special points that give Star Power when touched with a batted ball.
**Everyone's favorite hero. When Peach is in trouble, he always saves the day! A kart racer, tennis player, golf enthusiast, doctor... The list goes on and on, showing he's a jack-of-all-trades. His trademark Fireball will help him in his first foray into baseball.
+

***Good Chemistry: Luigi, Peach, Yoshi.
+
Chemistry indicates how well two players play when in direct contact, a good chemistry will affect fielding with faster and stronger throws between the two characters and batting when one character is at bases and a good chemistry character will bat better. Bad chemistry only affects fielding, charaters will throw in a bad direction or the ball might slip from the receiving character's glove.
***Bad Chemistry: Wario, Bowser
+

 +
Star Missions are requirements that must be met in the asigned level or better, not in a lower level or it will not be taken in consideration. When all Star Missions are completed for one character the Star version of that player will be unlocked which allows a small boost to all the abilities. Also, if a certain character wins the title of MVP (Most Valuable Player) during an exhibition game of 3 innings a small paraghraph describing the background of that character will be unlocked.

Revision as of 06:47, 5 July 2008

In Mario Superstar Baseball characters fall under 4 categories: Balance, Technique, Speed and Power. There are a total of 8 characters in each category, resulting in a total of 32 unique characters in the game. However in order to complete 6 teams of 9 characters another 22 characters where added. These characters are recolorations but have their own status for Fielding, Batting, Pitching and Running.
