Latest Pokemon Template[edit]

I really like that a lot. If you want to use that, go right ahead. Just remember to take in account clipping problems when using the Pokedex box next to the rather long infobox. (Consider fixing this by setting a fixed with for Pokedex box?) -Masamune 06:55, 6 August 2008 (MDT)

I went ahead and reshuffled around Bulbasaur as an example of what a good layout would be. I removed the headers for the different Moves for each generation (the navigation box is way too long) and moved all the tabled statistics to the bottom, right before Anime/Manga appearances. While I do like having the PokeDex information at the top, it causes clipping with the Infobox (you probably can't see this on IE) or shrinks the Pokedex table in unusual ways. If you want to see what I mean, I can give you some screencaps. I think you'll agree with me that we don't want anyone seeing the articles like that.... it makes it literally impossible to read what's in the Pokedex box.

By placing it all after the actual written information, we can avoid this problem entirely. I think it also works better this way, because we certainly want to emphasize the original content of the Wiki before we start divulging all the facts in tables, right? -Masamune 09:52, 9 August 2008 (MDT)

Well, the format of how you want to do things is up to you... it's your baby after all, my main input is largely in keeping with making sure things display in a nice, clean, and effective way. Other than that, I'm willing to let you more or less do what you like... though it is nice if we keep the infobox from being too big. I figured I'd experiment with shifting the numbers off to the side, since it could be automated rather than doing something bigger like putting the stats into a separate table.
As far as putting the tables last... well, the point of the Wiki is to offer original information. The tables are extremely useful and you've done a remarkable job with them, though. So feel free to use what sprites you want. Since Platinum is due soon, you may as well use those. As for a Wiki update, I'll try to get sometime to back everything up and upgrade. -Masamune 15:30, 9 August 2008 (MDT)

Collaboration[edit]

I moved it off the main page. It was causing some nasty formatting errors. Until I (or someone) can fix the display problems, it's on the Main Page's discussion topic. -Masamune 05:24, 5 August 2008 (MDT)

To Do[edit]

Hey! Welcome to the Wiki, glad to see you contributing.

Just wanted to let you know: We have pages on Characters in Paper Mario series and Characters in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars which includes both characters and enemies from the games. Depending on much work you're wanting to put into it, you can talk to User:Luiigii of the Pipes (for Paper Mario) and User:GORE-ILLA (Super Mario RPG) about splicing off the enemies from those pages. -Masamune 15:16, 10 September 2007 (MDT)

There's also a Enemies in Paper Mario series page. The Characters pages mostly used boss characters from the games.-GORE-ILLA 16:56, 10 September 2007 (MDT)

Pokemon Pages[edit]

Just dropping a note... it's great that you're setting up pages for the Pokemon to fill in the future, but they need to be marked with Stubs like Arbok here. That's for both maintenance purposes... and it helps preserve the layout, since the Pokemon Infoboxes are pretty unwieldy. -Masamune 14:35, 14 October 2007 (MDT)

What kind of confirmation is it asking for? The math one? -Masamune 14:54, 14 October 2007 (MDT)

Yep, that one. Smash Brother 14:56, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
I made you a bureaucrat, see if that helps. -Masamune 14:58, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
Thanks! But no, it still asks me for the equation. Smash Brother 15:05, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
I had to remove the link off the 'Stub' template. Once you're done editing, I'll roll it back to its old form.

Good job on the Pokemon pages! It'll be a lot easier having them readily existing to fill in. I'm going to revert the Stub template now. -Masamune 22:38, 26 October 2007 (MDT)

Re:Itadaki[edit]

Yeah, sure I can start that! Didnt I get Pikachu by the way? Mat_rix_007 17:01 October 14th, 2007 (MDT)

Images[edit]

What are you doing with the Pokemon images -Masamune 23:37, 8 December 2007 (MST)

Changeing them to the ones I ripped from Pokemon.co.jp
Any particular reason why all the old ones have to be taken out? The old ones were fine. After all, if we replace them all with all JPGs and delete the old image pages... they still remain in the server, spread throughout the Wiki image directory in hundreds of different folders. It would be easier to just replace them with larger versions when prudent. -Masamune 23:40, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Oh, that sounds like an awful use of memory. Hmm, well I thought that maybe I could unify the style and the size of all this images but couldn't rip them in png withouth makeing the files horribly big. Maybe I should send you them all to see what you could do with them? Smash Brother 23:43, 8 December 2007 (MST)
That might be better. At least for the ones we don't have uploaded for Diamond/Pearl, anyways. In any case, if that Skorupi image is what you wanted to use... I don't like the idea of them having those borders. -Masamune 23:45, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Oh come on! I needed a reference to where to stop cutting and center the image, now am I supposed to edit 491 files again? And about the Bandy Andy page, shouldn't there be someone supervising the transfer of pages from the old site to the Wiki exactly to avoid reproductions? Smash Brother 23:49, 8 December 2007 (MST)
We already have most of the Pokemon images up to begin with. All we're missing are the new ones from Diamond/Pearl, sans maybe a few from Ruby/Sapphire. There was no need to edit them in the first place... just to replace them with larger version. Using them with borders like that means using a certain size rather than a larger version. I've always been pretty adamant about using large images when possible.
As for Bandy Andy... well at this point, the only one who has been transferring GH Entries has been the staff of the old site (GORE, Luiigii, and myself). A lot of the entries from there are better suited to list pages, so we tend to reorganize them like that. In some cases we just rewrite them altogether. The Classic Encyclopedia is mostly there for reference purposes, Google referrals, and a starting point if we're writing a entry that the old Encyclopedia has a (outdated) version of.-Masamune 00:00, 9 December 2007 (MST)
