Munchlax appeared in Pokémon Dash as one of the racers and could be played as in one of the special courses. A non-obtainable Munchlax also appeared in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, where it belonged to the Herbalist and would sometimes appear at a Poké Spot. There it would set off a false alarm to the player, who would have to feed it food to appease it until its owner came and took it away, apologizing. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it had a chance of appearing in Pokémon Square and would give the player a Munchbelt if they fed it, although it could not be recruited. Notably, all three of these games preceded Diamond and Pearl.

Munchlax is one of the starter Pokémon that the player is potentially turned into at the beginning of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, and within the game wild Munchlax could also be found in the first thirteen basement floors of the Mystifying Jungle as well as the first twenty-nine basement floors of Mystery Jungle. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, the player can choose from Munchlax, Pachirisu and Starly as a Partner Pokémon at Vientown in the beginning of the game, and if it was not chosen the Munchlax was instead befriended later on in sidequest where it wanders into the player's house. Afterwards, the player can switch the chosen Pokémon out for one of the unchosen two (as well as fifteen other partner Pokémon that could be recruited at different poings) later on at Chicole Village's Partner Farm. In Pokémon Rumble, Munchlax is found at the Silent Forest. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it appears at Curl Bay and the Fire Temple. Munchlax also appears in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Meadow Zone.
