Fado was believed to be safe in Wind Temple even after the flood, but at some point he was killed by [[Ganondorf]] in order to weaken the Master Sword.

During ''The Wind Waker'', his spirit appeared before Link at the entrance to the Wind Temple and taught him the Wind God's Aria. He asking Link to teach the song to his successor, who would be wielding an instrument identical to his own. This successor turned out to be [[Makar]]. Fado's spirit appeared to play along with Makar whenever he played the Wind God's Aria, strengthening the Master Sword again, and then his spirit disappeared.
