Tornadus is a storm-generating legendary Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It and Thundurus are destructive Pokémon that are kept in check by the third part of their trio, Landorus. Out of the former two, Tornadus is exclusive to Black Version.

Information[edit]

Tornadus wraps the lower half of its body with a cloud of energy and can zoom through the air at 200 miles per hour. The massive energy that Tornadus expels from its tail causes huge storms to whip up wherever it flies. It is powerful enough to blow several houses away.

Tornadus and Thunderus both seem to be antagonistic in nature. It is said that they wreaked havoc on the homes and fields of Unova with their abilities until Landorus stepped in and stopped them.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black Version, Tornadus first shows up at Route 7 after the player has collected all eight badges and will most likely flee from the first encounter. He then appears throughout Unova as a roaming Pokémon, covering the southern half during daylight and the northern half at night.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tornadus (in his Incarnate Forme) appeared as an Advanced-rank Support Spirit with the effect of item gravitation. When fought against in a Spirit abttle, Tornadus's Spirit would possess Lucario in a battle that was subject to heavy wind and would start the battle armed with an Ore Club.

Trivia[edit]

  • His name is a play on "tornado".
  • Tornadus is based on Fujin, the kami (god) of wind from Shinto belief.
