Togetic is the evolved form of Togepi from the second generation games. Originally the final stage of Togepi's evolution, it was later discovered to evolve into Togekiss in the fourth generation games, which retroactively makes it the middle form of the evolutionary line.

Information[edit]

Togetic resembles a bird-like creature with a spiky head, wings and a body that resembles Togepi's egg, even with the same symbols. It evolves from Togepi out of happiness. They are said to appear before kindhearted people and shower them with happiness, but it grows dispirited if not with kind people. They can float in midair without flapping their wings much. It is sometimes said that it scatters a glowing down called "joy dust" over happy people.

Togetic will evolve into Togekiss when exposed to a Shiny Stone.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In all games from the second generation onwards, it can only be obtained through evolving Togepi.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Colosseum, a Shadow Togetic could be snagged from Cipher Peon Grunt Fake at Outskirt Stand, and after being purified, this Togetic could be traded to any of the third generation color versions.

In Pokémon Trozei!, Togetic could be found in Endless Level 3, Forever Level 52, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it could only be obtained through evolution, while it was found on the first nineteen basement floors of Happy Outlook in Explorers of Time and Darkness. Togetic also appeared in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs at the Old Mansion.

Other Appearances[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Misty's Togepi evolved into Togetic in its last appearance during the Hoenn episodes, at which point it stayed behind in the Mirage Kingdom to serve as its protector.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Jasmine left two Togetic at the daycare center which laid the Togepi egg that Gold hatched. Gold's Togepi did not evolve into a Togetic (followed by an evolution into a Togekiss) until the HeartGold/SoulSilver arc.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a combination of "toge" (the Japanese word for spike, as in its spiky head) and "tic" (which is a way to read the Japanese word for "chick").
