Stunfisk is a strange electric subterranean fish-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games.
Information[edit]
Stunfisk is a Pokémon that spends most of its time buried in the mud of a seashore. They wait there patiently for prey to step on them, so that they can jolt it with electricity to stun it. Stunfisk usually smiles while it is emitting electricity. They are also known for their hard skin, and it is hard enough that they will be unharmed even if a sumo wrestler stepped on one.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, they were commonly found by fishing and surfing at Route 8, Irricus City and Moor of Irricus at all times of the year. In these same locations, they could also be found on foot in the marshy area during every season except winter.
Trivia[edit]
- Its name seems to be a combination of "stun" (referring to its electrical abilities) and "fisk" (which is the word used for "fish" in most North European languages).
- According to a designer, it originated from the idea of making the flattest Pokémon. It was originally designed as a Water/Electric type that was based on a goosefish, but it was later decided to change its type to accommodate a balance amongst the different types.
